Search business registrations

Search public U.S. business registrations by name and return all usable candidates, ranked using the available state, city, postal code, name, and status evidence. State, city, and postal code are optional matching hints.

Each candidate includes an opaque, tenant-bound business_id. Pass that value unchanged to GET /v1/businesses/{business_id} within 24 hours. A valid search with no candidates returns 200 OK with an empty businesses array.

Test and live API keys query the same registry data. Key mode is used for tenant isolation and usage attribution.
